What I learned by interviewing 23 startups in past few weeks

I have been slowing down my blogging lately. This has happened for a few reasons:

1. I had been talking at the following Internet a week ago in Amsterdam and wifi there was crappy.
2. Before I took a few days off to be in Yosemite with my loved ones.
3. After I got back in Amsterdam I overscheduled myself, so I’ve got a ton of interviews done but had no time to upload those videos or procedure them blog about them.

Anyway, this weekend I caught up and uploaded 24 movies. Which pissed some people off on Facebook because I flooded their flows.

But, 1 benefit of doing and posting so many videos at the same time is you start seeing patterns. Here’s what I’m learning. The iPad is encouraging some interesting new companies to make , like Pose, which can be a cash register and inventory-management firm for retail shops. Video.
2. Health tracking and programs that help you keep your wellbeing up continue to pop up. Fooducate is a good illustration, it shows you whether the food you are choosing in grocery shops is healthy or not. Video.
3. IPhone program store is too hard to use, so we’ve seen a ton of organizations come out with strategies to enhance that. The latest I have seen is Zwapp, which shares apps with each other at a neat social way.
4. Photo/camera programs continue to be sexy . True Color obtained $41 million and since Instagram took off. Here Pixamid comes with an easier-to-use and understand social camera than Color. And Photogram includes a brand new contender for Instagram that lets you upload classes of photographs to Facebook or even Twitter. Video.
5. Enterprise collaboration support area is still hot. You knowthe area inhabited by Jive, Yammer, Salesforce Chatter, SocialCast, SocialText, etc.. This Moxie hooked up with design company IDEO to make the best designed and easiest to use cooperation services.
6. Traveling attracts about new business opportunities, especially as regular travelers recognize they are being slammed with high roaming fees. Here two startups help out. Onavo protects your iPhone’s information, which saves about half on data roaming charges. And MaxRoam gives you a SIM for unlocked phones which saves you a ton on voice calls. Video. Plus, a third firm, Abukai, helps to perform your expenditure reports once you travel by scanning the receipts along with your cell phone’s camera. Video.
7. The internet is not forgotten. Scrible helps you explore things on the web and save and share them. Useful. Video. Silk is building a new kind of database which is used first by the Following Web to construct a startup database. Shufflr.tv helps you find better and more video on the web. Video. Webdoc makes it possible to construct a new sort of site. Think a Blogger or Tumblr.
8. But the most interesting set of companies has been assembled around here and smartphones, for the first time, Apple’s iOS doesn’t have the coolest programs . For instance, Innobell lets you add programs that are social to a phone call. Just on Android now. Video. TekTrak gives you security. But largely on Android now. Video. And WalkBase enables you to track your phone’s motion through wifi and assisted GPS patterns within the room. Again, only on Android since Apple and Microsoft do not let WalkBase speak to the radios the manner Android does. Video.

Anyhow, here’s all the movies embedded, so that you may enjoy these. These are all on my YouTube Channel, if you enjoy them please register there.
